Privacy Policy – Ad Library Companion
Effective date: July 8, 2026
Ad Library Companion (“the Extension”) is developed by AdsTrust.net. This policy explains how the Extension handles data.
Data collection
The Extension does not transmit, sell or share any user data. It has no analytics, no tracking, no remote servers and no user accounts. Nothing you save leaves your own browser.
How it works
The Extension runs only on the Facebook Ads Library (facebook.com/ads/library), a public advertising-transparency tool. It adds a “Save” button to each ad. When you click Save on an ad, the Extension reads the publicly displayed details of that ad — advertiser name, Library ID, start date and ad text — and stores them locally in your browser so you can review and export them later.
The Extension only reads an ad’s public information when you explicitly click Save. It does not read your Facebook account, messages, friends, or any private data, and it does not act on your behalf.
Local storage
Saved ads are stored locally using Chrome’s storage API and never leave your device. You can delete individual ads or clear all of them at any time from the Extension popup. Uninstalling the Extension permanently deletes this data. The CSV export is generated on your device and saved directly to your computer.
Permissions
- storage — saves your swipe file (the ads you choose to save) locally in your browser.
- Host access to facebook.com/ads/library — lets the Extension add the Save button to ads on the public Ads Library. It does not run on any other Facebook page.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new effective date.
